Vivian Garcia, 83, of Arlington, Virginia, formerly of Beeville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018.
Ms. Garcia was born Sept. 6, 1935 in Charco to Jose and Sarah Garcia. She was a graduate of A.C. Jones High School and earned an Associate's Degree and Undergraduate in Business from North Virginia Community College and Troy University in Montgomery, Alabama. After a long and successful career in the private sector and the federal government working for the Office of the President, Departments of Labor and Justice, Air Force and Defense, she retired from the Department of Justice and was self-employed as a management consultant and accounting systems specialist. She was an active member and volunteer of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish along with many charities including Mother Theresa's Soup Kitchen in Arlington, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Sarah Garcia; a brother, Raul Garcia; and a sister, Genevieve Mata.
Survivors include three brothers, Joe, Robert and Jasper Garcia.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.
