Walter Person Jr.

John Person, 51, of Mathis, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009. He was born March 9, 1958 to Walter John August and Bertie Lee (Davis) Person in Sinton, Texas. John married Karlen Finke on December 9, 1989 in Beeville, Texas. He was a member of the Country Tabernacle Church. John was a farmer and a rancher and was a member of the Tynan Volunteer Fire Department and past board member of Bee County Co-op in Tynan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Jess Person. He is survived by his wife, Karlen Person of Mathis, Texas; children, Nick and Luke Person of Mathis, Texas; sister, Carrie (Jerry) Boerm of Mathis, Texas; nephew, Jeremy (Amanda) Boerm of Mathis, Texas; niece, Jayme (Chris) Kincheloe of Mathis, Texas; three great nieces, Starlena Kincheloe, Lacey and Kaley Boerm; and one great nephew, Atlee Kincheloe. Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Beeville, Texas from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held today at 3:00 p.m. at Country Tabernacle Church in Bluntzer, Texas with Brother John Byerley, Rev. Carl Pickett, and Brother Darby Salge officiating. Interment will follow at Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis, Texas. Pallbearers will be Glenn Winsauer, Keith Winsauer, Gus Person, III, Paul Person, James Person, Darby Salge, Thomas Mengers, and Tryne Mengers. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeremy Boerm.
