William Priest

William "Bill" Richard Priest, 68, passed away on July 4, 2015. He was born March 21, 1947 to William Martin and Ann (Walls) Priest in Corpus Christi, Texas. He married Shirley Montgomery McNeely on December 16, 2006 in Beeville, Texas. He was a catholic and an excellent cook and owner and operator of Swinney Switch Cafe. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Patricia Gautreaux. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Priest of George West, Texas; 3 children, Ricky (Darla) Priest of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kay (Peter) VanKuran of Virginia, and Beth (Todd) Cramer of Kansas; 3 step-children, James (Karina) McNeely of College Station, Texas, Shawn (Britney) McNeely of Arlington, Texas, and Ryan (Kate) McNeely of Springtown, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Cassie Priest, Brittne Durham, Cole Allbright, Wyatt Priest, Jacob Browning, Hunter Browning, Joshua VanKuran, Andrew VanKuran, Nancy VanKuran, and Samantha VanKuran; 3 step-grandchildren, Ireland McNeely, Patrick McNeely, and Liam McNeely; and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West, Texas with a rosary to be recited there that evening at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at St. George Catholic Church in George West, Texas. Interment will follow at Gussettville Cemetery in Gussettville, Texas. Pallbearers will be Cole Allbright, Wyatt Priest, K.J. Durham, Joshua VanKuran, Joe Zaruba, and Todd Cramer. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew VanKuran, Carlton VanWay, Todd VanWay, Scott Montgomery, Jim Montgomery, Jacob Browning and Hunter Browning.
