Willie Mae (Dittfurth) Vaughn, 94, of Beeville, left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, December 16, 2017. Willie Mae was born April 2, 1923, in Runge, Texas, to Willie J. and Frieda J. (Lange) Dittfurth.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Donald) Searcy; son, Terry (Sharon) Vaughn; granddaughter, Lisa Searcy; grandsons, Brian Searcy, Jason (Maggie) Vaughn, Christopher (Zena) Vaughn; two great grandchildren, Charley and Wyatt Vaughn; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert G. Vaughn; and son, Lonnie Gayle Vaughn.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Willie Mae, at an early age, worked at J.C. Penney in Beeville. After marriage, she was a homemaker and mother, which is what she loved most. In later years, she was a caregiver to her mother and worked for the Retail Merchants Association. She was a founding member of Trinity Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Beeville in 1950. When the merger took place in 1976 she became a part of the merged, Faith Lutheran Church, working with the Lutheran women's groups.
The family wishes to thank the many wonderful people, including Julia Medellin of Beeville, Heatherwilde Assisted Living/Pflugerville and Guiding Hospice/Round Rock who were part of Willie Mae's last several years. Their loving care and devotion allowed her to have years of comfort and helped her transition through her illness with grace.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 1500 East FM 351, Beeville, Texas, on Wednesday December 20, 2017, at 2PM with visitation at 1PM and burial in Runge Cemetery at 4PM. A light lunch will be provided for family and close friends in the fellowship hall at Faith Lutheran Church at 11:30AM.
Pallbearers will be Darren Hoelscher, Dewayne Bowman Jr, H.H. Laechelin, Tino Medellin, Tim Rider and Fred Schauer.
Honorary pallbearers Joe Linnstaedter, Neal McBryde, Jon Knocke, Larry Knocke, Brian Searcy, Donald Searcy, Christopher Vaughn and Jason Vaughn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1500 East FM 351, Beeville Texas 78102.
