Ysaias Muniz, Sr.

Ysaias S. "Chaie" Muñiz Sr., 78, of Three Rivers, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018.

Mr. Muñiz was born Feb. 26, 1939, in Three Rivers to Paula (Sanchez) and Ramon Muñiz Sr. He married Lucia Gutierrez in Three Rivers on Jan. 19, 1957. He was a Catholic and had worked in the oilfield industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Survivors include four sons, Ysaias Muñiz Jr. and Joe Muñiz, both of Three Rivers, Roberto Muñiz of Corpus Christi and Miguel Muñiz of George West; three daughters, Eloisa (Thomas) Gomez of Three Rivers, Paula (Sam) Cantu of Corpus Christi and Alvina (Michael) DeLeon of Cibolo; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ramon Muñiz Jr. of California and Johnny Muñiz of Victoria; and two sisters, Amelia Muñiz and Leticia, both of Victoria.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in Three Rivers. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Three Rivers Cemetery.
