Yvonne "Bunny" (Perkins) Carter

Yvonne (Perkins) Carter “Bunny” was born November 8, 1953, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Willie Agnes Akin and Albert Marion Perkins. She passed away April 7, 2025, in Kerrville, Texas.

Yvonne was the youngest of 11 children. On April 12, 1975, she married Tom W. Carter Sr. in Nueces County. She was a graduate of Tuloso-Midway High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. She loved cooking - a passion she shared with her son, Tommie. Whether it was making cakes and pies for the family-owned restaurant or just cooking for her family, she was at home in the kitchen. Over the years, Yvonne worked as a bookkeeper for numerous businesses.

She was married to Tom W. Carter for 50 years. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her son, Tommie, brought her much joy. She loved hearing him tell stories about the storm chases he went on and looking at the pictures and videos from those chases. She also wanted to know about his team that chased with him and knew most of them by name. Yvonne loved music of all kinds; her favorites were old country and oldies. Yvonne, in recent years, loved the TV series “Seal Team” and “Yellowstone” and would look forward to watching them with her family. Her favorite movie was “Tombstone.”

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Marion Perkins and Willie Agnes Akin Perkins; sisters, Alien Perkins Jones, Erma Christine Perkins, Vustula Louise Perkins Kelly, Shirley Azaleigh Perkins Rylander and Sarah Gertrude Perkins Shaw; and brothers James Patrick Perkins and Albert Marion Perkins Jr.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, Tom W. Carter Sr. of Kerrville, Texas; son, Tommie W. Carter and wife Karla of Ingram, Texas; two brothers, Richard Perkins and wife Pat of Luling, Texas and Donald Ray Perkins of Ingleside, Texas; one sister, Eva Perkins Rogillio of Mesquite, Texas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in the Three Rivers Cemetery in Three Rivers, Texas.

Pallbearers for Yvonne Carter will be Tommie W. Carter Jr., Mike Ringo, Brandon Roiser, Adonis Lee, Jack Perkins, Rocky Lane, Paden Stanley, Rocc Hubbard and Felipe Veliz.
